Chargers of 100 W.

With 100 W, a 14-inch MacBook Pro gets its fast charging, or a MacBook Air and an iPhone charge together at full speed. But a multi-port 100 W doesn’t always give 100 W to the same port: it all comes down to the sharing.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 100 W charger dangerous for a phone?

No: each port negotiates the power with the plugged-in device. An iPhone takes 20 to 52 W depending on the model, just as on a smaller charger.

96 W or 100 W, what’s the difference?

None in practice: a 14-inch MacBook Pro takes at most 96 W, and both give it fast charging.
