How to choose well.

Shared between a computer and a phone, a 65 W often gives 45 W to one and 20 W to the other: each charger’s page details this sharing.
For a MacBook Air, 65 to 70 W gives fast charging; a 60 W charges it almost as fast.
The cable: up to 60 W any USB-C cable works; above that you need a 5 A cable (100 W or 240 W).
A 65 W GaN fits in a pocket: when travelling, it replaces the phone, tablet and computer chargers.

Frequently asked questions

Can a 65 W charger charge a phone?

Yes, safely: the phone only takes what it accepts, from 20 to 53 W depending on the model.

Is 65 W enough for a MacBook Pro?

Not really: a 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 charges from 60 W, but slowly, and the M5 Pro and M5 Max need at least 70 W. For fast charging, aim for 96 to 100 W, and 140 W for a 16-inch MacBook Pro.
