Chargers from 40 to 50 W.
This is the power of high-end phones: an iPhone 18 Pro Max takes up to 52 W with an AVS charger, a Galaxy S26 Ultra up to 53 W with a good PPS charger, an 11-inch iPad Pro M5 about 40 W. A good 45 W already gives most of that speed, often in a very compact case.

How to choose well.
- iPhone 18 Pro Max: only an AVS charger goes beyond 43 W; without AVS, a good 45 W is still fast.
- Galaxy Ultra: get a PPS charger that delivers 5 A, with a 5 A USB-C cable; with PPS limited to 3 A, it charges noticeably slower.
- Two ports on a 45 W: the power is shared, about 20 to 25 W per port when both are in use.
- A 45 W also charges a MacBook Air or a light laptop, more slowly: handy when travelling.
Frequently asked questions
Is a 45 W charger dangerous for an iPhone?
No: the iPhone only takes what it accepts. An iPhone 17 takes about 28 W even on a 45 W, an iPhone 17 Pro Max about 38 W.
45 W or 25 W for a Samsung?
It depends on the model: a Galaxy S26 or A56 only takes 22 to 27 W, so a small PPS charger is enough. The Galaxy S26+ and S26 Ultra accept 45 W or more and charge much faster with a 45 W PPS charger.
